As a crisis management consultant with 26 years of experience, I help organizations prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters. I have worked with clients in various sectors, including entertainment, healthcare, education, and nonprofit, to enhance their security and resilience.
My specialties include severe weather planning, special event planning, emergency operation center and security operation center design and management, crisis communication, emergency preparedness training and exercises, and incident command operations. I have also delivered keynote speeches and workshops on these topics at various conferences and events.
I am the owner and senior consultant of my own company, where I leverage my expertise and network to provide customized solutions for each client's needs and challenges. I am also an independent consultant at MagicMakers® Group, an innovative consulting network of former Disney executives and experts, where I apply the principles and practices of creating magical memories to every project.
Additionally, I hold a BS in Criminology from Florida State University, and multiple certifications from FEMA, including the Professional Development Series and the National Incident Management System. I also serve as an adjunct professor for the master's program in emergency management at Florida International University in Miami. When I'm not keeping events and organizations safe, I enjoy bass fishing and umpiring youth baseball.
I have assisted in the planning and execution of events such as 2022 Special Olympics USA Games, runDisney, Invictus Games, Shanghai Disney Opening Ceremonies, Walt Disney World New Years Eve Celebrations, Walt Disney World Fourth of July Celebrations, and the Taste of Colorado Event.
